Sub-items & parent-items

Introduction

Sometimes you want to able to add multiple items, when you've added one item. For example, when you install a porch light, you will also use a lightbulb. So adding the porch light to the work order, should automatically add one light bulb.

Detailed Explanation

Each item in you catalog can be matched to another item, using the sub-items function in OutSmart. This way when adding the parent-item to a work order, quotation or invoice, you will see the option to add the sub-item(s) as well.

How to add a sub-item

  1. Select an item and go to Sub-item
  2. Click on add, to add a sub-item to this particular item
  3. The parent item is filled in automatically
  4. Select the sub-item from the catalog
  5. Choose between 'Variable based on the number of parent' or 'Fixed quantity'
  6. Fill in the fixed or variable quantity that the sub-item should be added
  7. Set the visibility and/or billable-settings of the sub-item
  8. Save
