# Create an Invoice ## What is it? An invoice is a document that tells customers what they owe. You can create invoices from scratch, from work orders, or from quotations that customers accepted. ## What can it do? - Create standalone invoices from the invoice menu - Generate invoices automatically from completed work orders - Convert accepted quotations into invoices - Save drafts before sending to customers - Email invoices directly to customers - Mark invoices as final without sending ## How to use it **Creating a standalone invoice:** 1. Log into OutSmart BackOffice 2. Select Invoices from the sidebar menu 3. Click Create new invoice in the top right 4. Add your invoice data 5. Click Save 6. Choose to email or manually finalize when ready **Creating an invoice from a work order:** 1. Open a work order from Scheduler or Work order overview 2. Click the red dropdown in top right corner 3. Select Invoice (not Quote) 4. Review the information pulled from work order 5. Add any additional data 6. Click Save 7. Choose to email or manually finalize when ready **Creating an invoice from a quotation:** 1. Open a sent quotation from the Quotes overview 2. Click the red dropdown menu and select Other 3. Click Invoice 4. Review the information pulled from quotation 5. Add any additional data 6. Click Save 7.
